Bionex — Workflow Intelligence for Technical Software

Bionex builds workflow-state intelligence for technical software systems.

We focus on a specific, overlooked problem: technical software monitors machine health — temperature, pressure, sensors, error codes — but almost nobody monitors how operators actually execute procedures. When validation steps are skipped, approvals are rushed, or retry loops form, the consequences show up later as support burden, process waste, and compliance risk.

Our current focus is OWI (Operational Workflow Intelligence): a monitoring layer that detects procedural deviations in real time, without replacing existing software or requiring source code changes.

Background

Bionex was founded by Cristian Valcea, a systems engineer with over 20 years of experience developing firmware and operator software for clinical chemistry analyzers and laboratory instruments.

That background — building the software that operators use every day — is what shapes OWI. The workflow deviation patterns it detects are not theoretical. They come from two decades of watching how technical software is actually used in the field: which steps get skipped under pressure, which shortcuts become habits, and which invisible procedural drift eventually causes real operational damage.

What We Work On

OWI — Operational Workflow Intelligence
Workflow deviation detection for technical software. Observes operator interactions, compares against expected procedures, flags deviations before they become downstream problems.

Technical Philosophy

  • Rule-based detection first: deterministic, explainable, auditable
  • Works with existing software — no source code changes required
  • Focused on workflow integrity, not employee surveillance
  • Built for regulated and technical environments where procedural discipline matters
